Principals
1925 to 1931 - J.F. Brower
Professor Brower entered Trinity College (Duke University) at the age of 16 and graduated with a Masters degree in 1879. He began his teaching career in 1880 teaching math at various schools. He served as the Headmaster at the Salem Boys School for 21 years until it closed in 1910. He then became the Headmaster of the Clemmons Moravian School until 1925. He was Principal of the “new”
Clemmons School until his retirement in 1931 after 51 years of teaching.
1931 to 1945 – Theodore Rondthaler
Mr. Rondthaler graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1919. He obtained his Masters degree from Princeton in 1923. He and his wife, Alice, started the school Orchestra in 1931. They also started the school Christmas Pageant in 1932. He resigned as principal to become a professor at Black Mountain College in the spring of 1945. (Photo is from the 1919 UNC Yearbook)
1945 to 1949 – T. Ray Gibbs
Attended Western Carolina Teachers College and the University of North Carolina.
1949 to 1950 – G. Linnet Potts
Attended Wake Forest College and the University of North Carolina.
1950 to 1952 – George B. Lester
1952 to 1955 – Robert Chilton
Mr. Chilton obtained a B.S. from Appalachian Teachers College in English and Social Studies in 1950. He also obtained his Masters degree
in Education from the University of
North Carolina in 1955.
1955 to 1981 – W. Frank Morgan
Mr. Morgan obtained his B.S. from Wake Forest University and his Masters degree in Education from the University of North Carolina. He was the principal during the last year of the High School in 1956 and stayed on as the Elementary School Principal until the school closed in 1981.

Annie Eaton Brower
Wife of Professor Brower
Mrs. Brower established the first public school library in Forsyth County in 1927. She acquired furniture for the new library from the old courthouse which was being replaced. She acquired books from community funds while others were donated from the citizens of Forsyth County. She worked as a teacher (English and Math) and the school Librarian until at least 1956. No information is available beyond that year.

Nona Watkins
First-Grade Teacher
Mrs. Watkins taught first-grade at Clemmons School from 1925 until 1968. She taught the previous two years at the Moravian Farm Life School. Known as “Everyone’s 1st Grade Teacher”, she taught several generations of students.

Edoth Noble
History Teacher
Mrs. Noble taught history at Clemmons from 1925 until 1957. In 1956 Miss Noble wrote a play about the history of the Clemmons Village. Her eight grade history students acted out the various roles of its founding fathers.

Anna Lena Cooper
Fourth-Grade Teacher
(Class of 1937) began her days at Clemmons School as a first-grade student in 1925 (the first 1st-grade class at Clemmons School). As a student she played violin in the State Championship high school orchestra. She later returned to the school as a fourth teacher where she taught for 37 years

George Moody
French and English Teacher and Coach
George Moody – A much loved Teacher, Coach, and father figure, Mr. Moody taught at Clemmons High from 1936 to 1956 as a French and English teacher. He became a legendary baseball coach in the 1940’s by winning four State Championships (He also won another State Championship in 1932 while coaching at King High School).

Harriet Moody
Teacher
Harriet Moody taught at Clemmons High from 1936 into the 1960’s. Harriet and George Moody took over the Christmas Pageant in 1945.

Alma (Ma) Hampton
Lunchroom Manager
Managed the lunchroom and later the cafeteria from 1928 until 1956. She used a wood stove in the early days and fed the students soup and sandwiches for five cents.
